Practice is RESCIE's project development environment.
Here, knowledge, research and ideas move into action, becoming methods, programmes, routes, cultural products, services, initiatives and independent projects.
Practice makes it possible not only to study or discuss an idea, but to test how it works in a real environment.
Different entry points
- Through Education
- Through Research
- With your own idea
- By participating in an existing RESCIE project
Project Exploration
An external idea does not automatically become a RESCIE project. First, we clarify:
- Idea
- Audience
- Real need
- Possible form
- Resources
- Scope of RESCIE's involvement
Ways to participate
Join a project
Join an existing RESCIE project and gain practical experience.
Develop an idea
Explore, structure and test your own idea.
Create a project
Turn an idea into a method, programme, route, product, service or initiative.
Grow independently
Develop a project into an independent form: an original field of work, a sustainable practice or an organization.
Types of projects
RESCIE Project
Initiated by RESCIE. RESCIE acts as the initiator and methodological and organizational hub.
- Initiator
- Methodological hub
- Organizational hub
Co-created Project
Jointly initiated by a participant and RESCIE. The centre's potential role is defined for each project.
- Co-author
- Partner
- Methodological support
- Infrastructure and a supportive environment
Participant-led Project
Initiated by a participant. RESCIE may support the project's development without automatically becoming a co-author.
- Consultation
- Mentoring
- Research support
- Education
- Resources
A working form
Practice can result in:
- An educational programme
- A method or methodology
- A research initiative
- A cultural project
- A route or tourism experience
- A digital or physical product
- A service
- A social initiative
- A commercial project
- An independent organization
Not every idea needs to become a business. What matters more to RESCIE is finding a form in which it can genuinely work.
Project Incubation
Project incubation is one of Practice's functions. It may include:
- Exploring an idea
- Developing a concept
- Prototyping
- Testing in a real environment
- Feedback
- Iterative development
Explore → Join → Prototype → Test → Create → Grow
This is a possible trajectory, not a mandatory funnel. A project can enter at another stage, return to Research or Education, change direction, or stop if practical testing does not support the idea.
How a project can evolve
Remain inside RESCIE
Remain an internal RESCIE project.
Become a joint project
Become a joint, partner or co-authored project.
Grow independently
Develop into an independent project, original field of work or organization.
RESCIE does not seek to keep projects within the centre. What matters is that an idea finds a sustainable, working form.
Practice can support both non-commercial and commercial initiatives, depending on the project's nature, audience and model of sustainable development.
The specific model of RESCIE's involvement is determined separately for each project.
Research × Education × Practice
Research
Helps clarify the question.
Education
Provides knowledge and skills.
Practice
Makes it possible to test them in action.
Practical experience can generate a new research question, a new educational programme or an independent project. This is a cycle, not a linear chain.
